The Bachelors Nostalgia Music Catalogue old songs

Listen to The Bachelors, Ireland’s first Male Pop Band in the Nostalgia Music Catalogue.

Originating from the 1960’s, The Bachelors were one of the first Irish pop bands consisting of brothers Conleth and Declan Clusky and John Stokes. They began as an instrumental act playing harmonicas called “The Harmonichords” but turned to singing after a tour of England in 1959. They changed their name to “The Bachelors” in 1962 at the suggestion of Dick Rowe, A&R at Decca Records, who reportedly recommended the name “because that’s the kind of boy a girl likes.” Their biggest hit was “Diane” which went to number one in England and number ten in America in 1964.
