Johnny Cash was infamous and world-renowned for being a singer, songwriter, actor and author. Although primarily remembered for his significant contribution to Country Music, Cash was also inspired by Blues, Folk, Gospel and many other musical genres. One of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, his legacy is celebrated in four major music halls: the Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame (1977), the Country Music Hall Of Fame (1980), Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame (1992), and the Gospel Music Hall Of Fame (2010).
Remembered for performing to convicts across U.S prisons, ‘Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison’ documents Cash’s tumultuous life and investigates his infamous 1968 concert at the aforementioned establishment.
