Dusty Springfield & The Springfields – Island of Dreams

Before she became an infamous international sixties icon as a solo soul artist, Dusty Springfield was apart of the pop-folk vocal trio The Springfields, alongside her brother Tom Springfield. The Springfields gained success in the early 1960s, such as their hit single ‘Island of Dreams’ (listen to preview below) which rose to the UK #5 in 1963. In the same year, Dusty would leave the group and go on to become one of the most successful British female artists of all time, with multiple top 20 singles on the United States Billboard Hot 100 and the United Kingdom Singles Chart. Witness Dusty in the very beginnings of her element on this album, featuring classic hits from both her recordings as part of The Springfields and early releases from her solo career.
