ABOUT Chic
This all-American band are best known for the disco era in the 1970s. The disco and R&B band was put together in 1976 by guitarist Nile Rodgers and bassist Bernard Edwards. They gained much commercial success with dicso hits such as: “Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah)” (1977), “Everybody Dance” (1977), “I Want Your Love” (1978), “Good Times” (1979), and “My Forbidden Lover” (1979). The group regarded themselves as a rock band for the disco movement “that made good on hippie peace, love and freedom”. In October 2012, Chic was nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the seventh time.
ABOUT “Le Freak”
This track was a vey successful piece for the band Chic. In 1978, when it was first released, it was the band’s third single and Billboard Hot 100, as well as Soul Music number 1 hit. The single achieved seven million copies and was even number in the UK single charts.
