The Glenn Miller Orchestra
Formed in 1938 and comprising mainly of; clarinet and tenor saxophone controlling the main melodies while other saxophones complimented with harmony. Following Miller’s disappearance in 1944, lead saxophonist Tex Beneke took over the group.
Little Brown Jug
Originally written as a drinking song, ‘Little Brown Jug’ rose to success during the period of prohibition. Miller recorded a version of the song in 1939 with the song becoming a staple of Miller’s live set from then on.
