ABOUT Irving Berlin
Belarusian-Jewish Irving Berlin was an American composer and lyricist. He was considered one of America’s best songwriters in all of history. Within the span of his 60-year career, it has been estimated that he has wrote around 1,500 songs, which include the scores of 19 Broadway shows and 18 Hollywood films. Berlin’s songs have reached the top of the charts 25 times and have been extensively re-recorded by numerous singers. He lived to be 100 years old.

ABOUT ‘On The Avenue’

This 1937 film was directed by Roy Del Ruth, in the musical style genre. The star cast included the likes of: Dick Powell, Madeleine Carroll, Alice Faye, George Barbier, and The Ritz Brothers. As well as this, many of the songs in this film were composed by Irving Berlin.
