Ronny BlogThe father of the 90’s acid jazz movement Ronny Jordan has passed away aged 51. The London born jazz guitarist who received a coveted MOBO award in 2000 as well as being nominated for a Grammy in the same year for his album ‘Brighter Day’ rose to mainstream success with his re-working of the Miles Davis classic ‘So What‘. Jordan’s career begun in 1992 with the release of his debut record ‘The Antidote‘ which exposed to the world of jazz the true talent Jordan possessed not only for his soul-full and imaginative guitar work but also his ability to manipulate an age-old genre and bring it to the forefront of modern music.

‘The Jackal’, which featured on Jordan’s 1993 album ‘The Quiet Revolution‘ was used in various television programmes including smash HBO hit ‘The West Wing’. Throughout Jordan’s 20 year career he garnered a dedicated fan base as well as admiration from fellow musicians including DJ Gilles Peterson.

There is no doubt that the world of music will sorely miss Ronny Jordan and his incredible talent.
