ABOUT
King of swing Billy ‘Mr. B’ Eckstine was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1914. After abandoning a football career following a broken collar bone, Eckstine went on to work with some of the biggest names in jazz, R&B and soul. He was widely respected as a band leader, trumpet player and vocalist.
The first volume in this two-part collection features the track ‘My Foolish Heart’.
