ABOUT
William James “Count” Basie, born in 1904 was an American band leader, jazz pianist and composer. Basie began his career in the same way as many of his peers; through vaudeville. In 1935 he formed his own jazz orchestra in which he would emphasise the rhythm section. Basie Live! brings you a selection of swing and jazz tracks straight from the Count.
