ABOUT Rodger and Hammerstein
Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II make up this famous pair. They are known to be the one of the most successful, original and influential pioneers of musical theatre. This American duo are known for the number of Broadway hits they created in the 1940/50s, such as the ‘King and I’, ‘Carousel’, ‘Oklahoma!’ and ‘Sound Of Music’. Due to thriving in the “Golden Age of Musical Theatre”, Rodger and Hammerstein won many awards including thirty-four Tony Awards, fifteen Academy Awards, the Pulitzer Prize, and two Grammy Awards.

Rodger and Hammerstein’s ‘Juliet and Me’

This is one of many stage productions by the critically-acclaimed duo Rodgers and Hammerstein, which premiered in 1952. The musical comedy was the pair’s sixth production and showcases the love story of an assistant stage manager, Larry, and a chorus girl, Jeanie, backstage of a long-running musical. Larry persists in wooing Jeanie while her electrician boyfriend works unknowingly.
