About the songs
This is a rock opera, which ranks alongside ‘Tommy’ by the Who as the greatest of its kind. It is sung through, with no words between numbers, and is meticulous in its construction. The music is catchy, energetic and exuberant above all else reflecting the musical ‘zeitgeist’ of the 1960s and early 1970s. Andrew Lloyd Webber has said that he conceived the music for performance in a stadium.
