ABOUT

Relive some of your favourite childhood classics with our ‘Disney Favourites’, a series of original soundtracks taken from the films of Walt Disney.

Walt Disney’s masterpiece Fantasia (1940) was originally indifferently received; its position as an iconic piece of early animation took years to develop, eventually becoming the twenty-second highest grossing film of all time in the United States. It was also the first commercial film to feature stereo sound. The film utilises music from many staples of the classical music era, including Johann Sebastian Bach, Igor Stravinsky and Ludvig van Beethoven, in a series of contrasting shorts. Fantasia continues to be enjoyed all over the world today; as Walt Disney himself said, ‘Fantasia is timeless’.
