Introduction to the Artist’s

Some of the artist’s included on this playlist include the Portuguese born- Brazilian Carmen Miranda, a singer/actress well known for her fruit hats and Xavier Cugat, a band leader and prominent figure in Latin music increased popularity across America. The Andrew Sisters were a close harmony group inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1998, whose work has gone on to influenced artists such as Betty Miler and Christina Aguilera. Peggy Lee’s career spanned six decades, not only a successful singer/songwriter with hits such as ‘Fever’, but also as an Oscar nominated actress.
